Meet the Midwife

About me

Hello!!! My name is Victoria Stephens. I am 25 (+s&h) years old and  I married the love my life, Miles, in June 2007. Together we have 8 wonderful children, 5 boys and 3 girls  I am my parents 7th child (6th girl)  of 12. Needless to say, I am never left alone(LOL). I am a sister to many, and a friend to all.

I am blessed with residing in the BEAUTIFUL state of Utah. I enjoy spending my spare time making goodies (major sweet tooth here) and costumes/blankets/whatever for my kids, enjoying the company of family and friends, watching my kids make successes in their lives, watching my sweetheart and children play sports and the piano, and learning along side my husband.

Why I became a Midwife?

While growing up, I never imagined I would become a midwife someday. While in high school, my plan was actually to continue my education and become a lawyer. In August of 2007, 2 months after getting married, I attended my first birth and 18 months later, I gave birth to my first child. As time went on, and I attended college classes at the College of Eastern Utah, I found myself not feeling as confident in that decision to practice law. So I took 8 years off of school, was a mom to my children and homemaker, until 2014, when I felt a very strong calling that midwifery is the path that I was intended to embark on. So began my journey. That December I became certified as a HypnoDoula through "Hypnobirthing Utah" and practiced as a doula for almost 2 years before applying to The Midwives College of Utah (MCU) in October of 2016.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude in April of 2023 with my Bachelors of Science in Midwifery from MCU. As well as received my certification as a professional midwife (CPM) and became a licensed direct entry midwife (LDEM).  I look forward to the rest of my journey as a midwife; serving families in such a wonderful, joyous time of their lives.

A midwife of technical expertise

I practice in a way that I am able to demonstrate my capabilities as an expert midwife. I utilize my learning, and am constantly engaging in learning more with every client.

A midwife of professional excellence

I serve a diverse community of women in a culturally safe, ethical, and collaborative way. I feel that all women are deserving of the best care they can receive and are entitled to access to midwifery, if they so desire.

A midwife of personal greatness

I am the best "me" I can be. I am committed to providing quality care to myself and others in my practice as a professional, direct-entry midwife.
